Jill Remiticado (center photo), 1996 Wrestling on Iolani Boys Team

At the 2009 Aloha State Games held at King Intermediate in Kaneohe, I caught up with Jill Remiticado, who graduated from Iolani School in 1999 and from Pacific University in Oregon. She caught everyone's attention back in 1996 and 1997 when she was the first female to be on the Iolani boys wrestling team. Jill won the first state championship in the 114 pound wrestling class and she also holds the state weightlifting record in the 127 pound weight class. According to Jill, she loves to compete in sports which are mainly dominated by men. She keeps in shape by lifting weights and is involved in coaching wrestling. Jill stands at 5'1" and is from Aiea, Hawaii.
