Honolulu International Airport "2014 Triennial Aircraft Disaster Exercise"
The FAA requires a full scale demonstration of the emergency plan every three years of those airports certified under 14 CFR part 139. This excerpt of FAA Advisory Circular 150/5200-31A (e) states:
Full Scale Exercise - The full scale exercise is the most comprehensive test and is intended to evaluate the operation capability of the emergency management system in a stress environment with actual mobilization and response capability. It uses all the resources and requires reaction from equipment and personnel that would normally be available if the exercise were an actual emergency. The FAA requires a full scale demonstration of the emergency plan every three years of those airports certified under 14 CFR part 139.
The full scale demonstration requires a simulated emergency, as it would in an actual aircraft disaster, for full certificated airports commensurate with the index of the airport, to ensure that all personnel having duties and responsibilities under the plan are familiar with assignments and are properly trained. LVSSA / SSUSA World Master Championship Las Vegas Nevada Men's 60+ AA Division
I spoke to one of the the Team Manager, "Fresh Poke" Mark Daniels from Maui about this year's 2014 LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championship, he said "most of us are from Maui and have played together for a while, we have been back and forth to these tournaments within the last 10 years. Four times we have come in 2nd place, but we're hanging in there."
"Last year we didn't do that hot, but we're back here one more time to see how it works out. Most of my players are from Maui, three are from Kauai and one from Oahu. Most are from Maui. We all know each other for years and we just got together came up here to come and play. So far we have been hanging in there and this year, hopefully we can win it. Our team in Maui won the 2014 Tournament, so right now we're just trying to carry over and go from there." More information on the 2014 LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championship "click here."
