Tonight, the Chaminade University of Honolulu Silverswords 2012-2013 Women's Basketball team started off their season with a game against the D-One Stars at their McCabe Gym. Head Coach Bobby Keanini for the Silverswords had this to say about this year's season, "we have a good returning crop coming back and we're still a small team, but again we shoot the ball well and we have great young ladies that work really hard." "We have returning all conference players, #10 Dianna Zane (Senior) and #21 Jordan Ahakuelo (Junior). They'll be playing a huge part in what we do. We also have three freshmen that will contribute a lot to the program and should get us to the outer bounds of the conference; and we should be working our way back up into contention somewhere in-between the conference. As for the outlook for this year, our ladies work hard and it will be an exciting year to see what we can do and hopefully it comes out in the plus side for us."
Head Coach also mentioned to keep an eye on #50 Rhani Kaneaiakala (Senior), #24 Shana Kawakami (Freshman) and #3 Sabrina Angle (Freshman), who tonight ended up scoring a high of 15 points and the D-One Stars #33 Jamie Smith with 24 points.
