Tonight amidst a light drizzle, the Kapolei Hurricanes was stopped by the Moanalua Na Menehune defense. The Na Menehune offense also held tough before a sea of blue supporters cheering them on. It has been a rough, but admirable season for Moanalua with losses to Kailua 3-7, Kahuku 7-14 and Farrington 24-28. It was now or never, they did not stop "believing" and was determined tonight to take the win to advance in the OIA playoffs 30-13.

The first quarter was scoreless, but into the 2nd quarter, Moanalua's #99, Nainoa Eselu (photo above) received a pass from QB #15, Dillion Turk for the first TD and extra point by kicker #33, Lee Arakawa to take the lead 7-0 with 5:55 on the clock. With 3:19 left in the 2nd quarter, Moanalua's #8, Marciano Tauvela added to the score for 6 more points ending the 2nd quarter 13-0.

The start of the 3rd quarter still did not stop the Na Menehune whose QB #15, Dillon Turk ran in for a TD and kicker #33, Lee Arakawa made it 20-0 with 8:32 left in the 3rd quarter. Kapolei didn't give up and scored their first of two TD to make it 20-13. It was a scare, but the Na Menehune kept up their momentum with another TD by #17, Donald Lambert who out jumped a Kapolei defender #19 for his first TD to bring the score to 27-13. With only 24 seconds left on clock in the 4th quarter, and the rain coming down, one fan yelled "it was a blessing" as Moanalua's kicker #33, Lee Arakawa sealed the game with a final field goal to end it 30-13.
